Where are you leaking energy?”
You’re not crazy for feeling snappy lately.
One Story:
Last week, I caught myself yelling into the fridge.
Not at anyone. Just… at the fridge.
Because someone — not naming names (but she’s 13) — left an empty box of waffles in there again.
And that tiny thing? It pushed me over.
But what actually had me unraveling wasn’t the waffles.
It was that I had said “yes” all week when I needed to say “I’m at capacity.”
That I kept over-functioning because it was easier than explaining.
That I didn’t want to deal with the sighs, the eye rolls, the guilt.
The truth? I was exhausted — not from the doing, but from the leaking.
One Tool: Energy Leak Check-In
Take a breath and scan the last 3 days. Ask yourself:
🌪 Where did I say “yes” just to keep the peace?
🧾 What’s something I’m doing that no one’s even asked me to — I just assume I “should”?
😩 Where am I most resentful right now?
(Hint: That’s often the loudest leak.)
Then try this:
Pull back in one area this week. Just one.
Say no. Don’t reply right away. Let the group chat spin without your input.
Let the laundry sit. Let someone else be annoyed.
Your nervous system isn’t being dramatic.
It’s trying to get your attention.
One Gentle Reminder:
Every time you overextend to avoid discomfort —
You train your body to believe peace is earned through exhaustion.
But you’re allowed to rest before you break.

(And if you missed last month’s top read, “Is it burnout or boundaries?” — it’s a good one to revisit.)
You don’t need a full life overhaul.
Just one pause. One no. One moment where you choose you.
And if you need permission?
This is it. 💛
I’ll be back next Tuesday —
Until then, protect your peace like it’s sacred. Because it is.
Warmly,
Moya
