📰 Your August Reset, Continued: Gifts for You & Them

In partnership with

Oooopppss… I forgot to hit “schedule” on today’s newsletter.

Honestly? It feels right on brand. This whole month we’ve been talking about slowing down, giving ourselves grace, and not burning out by trying to be perfect. So here it is — a little late, but maybe right on time. 💛

One Story

We’ve spent August talking about slowing down, harvesting what feels good, and protecting your energy. And now here we are — one week out from back-to-school.

‘ This is usually the week we sprint. Buy the supplies. Organize the backpacks. Squeeze in the last pool day. But what if we didn’t?

What if this final week of summer was a gift — for you, and for them?

One Tool (for you + your preteen/Teen)

3 small things you can start this week:

🌙 Bedtime reset → Move bedtime 15 minutes earlier every night so mornings feel less like a shock.

📚 Routine refresher → Spend 10 minutes a day on something “school-like” (reading, light journaling, organizing their desk) to ease the transition.

🤝 Connection time → End the day with one calming ritual together — a short walk, tea, or even just talking in bed. It grounds them and you.

One Gentle Reminder

Back-to-school doesn’t have to mean back-to-chaos. The best gift you can give your child is a mom who feels steady — and the best gift you can give yourself is remembering you don’t have to do it all in one week.

What’s feeding me lately:

  • Reading: It’s Not Always Depression by Hilary Jacobs Hendel — a compassionate look at the emotions we often bury, and how feeling them fully can lead to real healing.

  • Quote I’m sitting with: “When we avoid our feelings, we stay stuck. When we allow them, we move toward freedom.” — Hilary Jacobs Hendel

And if you’re realizing that what really drains you isn’t just the back-to-school shuffle but the deeper root beliefs that fuel burnout and perfectionism — I’d love to invite you into my Chaos to Calm Group for Moms this fall. It’s a space to loosen those roots, learn new tools, and walk into the season steadier.

See you next Tuesday (on time, I promise 😉),
